On Friday, February 2, 2018, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on Joshua Pollard, 19 years of age, of the 6100 block of Lucille Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri 63136, for two counts of Stealing a Firearm, three counts of Property Damage in the First Degree, and one count of Receiving Stolen Property. Pollard is being held on a $75,000, cash only, no 10% bond. A photo of Pollard is attached.

The probable cause statement states: Two St. Louis County police officers reported that their marked police cars had been forcibly entered (by means of broken windows) and two department issued firearms stolen from each car. A St. Louis city officer further reported that his marked police vehicle had been forcibly entered, by means of a broken window, while it was parked outside of a St. Louis County address. Police investigating unrelated car thefts spoke to a witness who indicated that defendant was responsible for stealing guns from police cars. Police responded to the defendant’s address and, given consent to search by defendant’s brother and mother, located three of the four guns that were stolen from the St. Louis County police officers. Defendant was subsequently arrested at his place of work. He confessed to stealing the four guns from the St. Louis County police cars, after making forcible entry into the vehicles, and further admitted that he had broken the window of the St. Louis City police vehicle with the intention of stealing guns from inside. He said he had been unable to open the locked container within the car that contained the guns. At the time of his arrest, the defendant was in possession of a .40 caliber Glock that had been reported stolen from St. Charles County. Defendant confessed to stealing that gun from a car in St. Charles.

Detectives from the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Property are conducting the investigations.
