On Sunday, July 8, 2019, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on suspect Thomas Clement, 30 years of age, of the 1400 block of Lyndale Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri 63130, for one count of Murder in the Second Degree and one count of Armed Criminal Action. Clement is being held without a bond. A mugshot of Clement is attached.

The probable cause statement reads: Victim is walking in an apartment breezeway when he trips on a barbeque and falls into the door of an apartment where the Suspect is located. The Victim walks away and heads up the stairway. The Suspect comes to the door of the apartment with a gun in his hand. The Suspect yells at the Victim who is on the third step going up the stairs and flourishes his gun at the victim. The Victim turns back downstairs and reaches the landing of the stairwell when the Suspect begins firing at the Victim. Approximately eleven shots were fired by the Suspect. The Victim had no weapon. I believe the defendant is a danger to the community due to the nature of the charges.

The deceased is positively identified as Larry Neal Jr., 31 years of age, of the 1500 block of Pepper Hill Drive in Florissant, Missouri 63033.

Detectives from the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are conducting the investigation.
