On Monday, September 30, 2019, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on suspect Portis Williams, 23 years of age, of the 2400 block of Belle Glade Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri 63113, for one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child First Degree and Resisting/Interfering with Arrest for a Felony. Williams is not currently in custody. A previous mugshot of Williams is attached.
The probable cause statement reads: On July 10, 2019, the defendant exposed an 8 month old infant to fentanyl resulting in cardiac arrest and brain damage. When the police attempted to stop the defendant, he drove around the officers and fled at a high rate of speed.
Detectives from the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are conducting the investigation.
