On Thursday, March 31, 2016, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on Robert Simpson, 34 years of age, of the 200 block of Dundee Circle, St. Louis, MO 63137, for one count of Murder in the 1st Degree, one count of Armed Criminal Action, and one count of Burglary in the 1st Degree. Simpson is not in custody at this time. A $250,000 cash only bond has been issued. A photo of Simpson is attached.
On Sunday, March 27, 2016, at approximately 6:10 AM, the St. Louis County Police Department’s North County Precinct responded to a call for a shooting in the 10400 block of Duke. A male victim, Tommie Daniels, had been shot multiple times inside of a residence at that location. Daniels was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The probable cause statement reads: Defendant and Victim had an argument. Several days previous to homicide, the Victim and another went to the Defendant’s residence, kicked in his door and beat him up. Defendant made statements to several others that he was going to kill the Victim and his roommate. He was overheard on the phone trying to obtain a gun and also get directions to the Victim’s house. On 3-27-16, the Victim was found shot to death in his home with the front door kicked in. The Defendant’s phone puts him in the area at the time of the shooting. While in custody, the Defendant made statements to several other inmates admitting the shooting and giving details that are matched by the evidence.
Detectives from the St. Louis County Police Bureau of Crimes Against Persons conducted the investigation and presented the case to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s office where the above charges were issued.
