On Friday, November 15, 2019, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued a charge on suspect Beau Rothwell, 28 years of age, of the 12600 block of Northwinds Drive in St. Louis, Missouri 63146, for one count of Murder in the Second Degree. This is in addition to the charge of Tampering with Physical Evidence in a Felony Prosecution that was issued on November 14, 2019. Rothwell is being held without a bond. A mugshot of Rothwell is attached.
The probable cause statement reads: On or about November 12, 2019, Victim Jennifer Rothwell was reported missing. On November 11, 2019, the Defendant was identified on video purchasing cleaning products including bleach, carpet cleaner, and gloves. On November 13, 2019, after obtaining a search warrant for the home of the Victim and the Defendant, detectives located empty cleaning bottles, wet carpet soaked with bleach, large areas of blood in carpeting and underlying pad. DNA from the Victim’s mother and father was analyzed and is consistent with the blood found in the carpet.
Detectives from the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are conducting the investigation.
