On Tuesday, November 19, 2019, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on suspect Marjorie Theleman, 78 years of age, of the 700 block of South Laclede Station Road in St. Louis, Missouri 63119, for one count of Murder in the First Degree and one count of Armed Criminal Action. Theleman is being held on a $250,000 bond. A mugshot of Theleman is not available at this time.


The probable cause statement reads: The Defendant rented a hotel room and removed her daughter from a nursing home and proceeded to stab her daughter with a knife. The Defendant left a typed note explaining her actions. She also left a hand-written note telling housekeeping to call the police. The Defendant attempted to suffocate herself with a plastic bag but was not successful.

Detectives from the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are conducting the investigation.
