On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on suspect Javion Smith, 19 years of age, of the 2300 block of Hudson Road in St. Louis, Missouri 63136, for one count of Murder in the Second Degree and one count of Armed Criminal Action. Smith is being held on a $500,000 bond. A mugshot of Smith is attached.


The probable cause statement reads: On December 4, 2019, the Victim and her boyfriend were staying at a residence on Dennis Drive in St. Louis County, Missouri, when then began to engage in a physical altercation. The Victim contacted her brother to come over to the residence. Her brother and the Defendant subsequently came to the residence and brought an AR-15 rifle with them. A physical altercation ensued between the Victim’s brother and her boyfriend. By that time, the Defendant was in possession of the rifle. As the fight between the Victim’s brother and her boyfriend concluded, the Defendant fired a single shot at the Victim’s boyfriend, but struck the Victim, who was standing directly in front of the Defendant. The bullet went through the Victim and grazed her boyfriend’s thigh. The Victim was rushed to the hospital where she died of the single gunshot wound to the back and chest. The Defendant has been identified as the person committing the offense.

Detectives from the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are conducting the investigation.
