Public Information Office

 

The primary responsibility of the Public Information staff is to distribute information reflecting the activities and perform and of the Department to the public by way of print, broadcast and electronic media. The Social Media Coordinator utilizes various social media venues to interact with the community and promote department information. The office is also responsible for the department's website, press releases and newsletters.

The office of the Historian is also in the Public Information Office.

The Public Information Office strives to protect the Constitutional guarantees of free press and a fair trial. The Office is responsible for coordinating the exchange of information regarding the Department and its operations with members of the media. The Office also informs and engages citizens on a variety of social media platforms and maintains the Department’s website

 

PRESS INQUIRIES & REQUESTS

Members of the media seeking assistance of any kind from the St. Louis County Police Department should email PDMedia@stlouiscountymo.gov. The Public Information Office is responsive to that email address at all hours, including weekends and holidays. 

Inquiries that are related to matters of extreme public safety or other remarkable events will receive an expeditious and appropriate response at all hours. Routine inquires will receive a response the morning of the next business day.

Information on significant or breaking news will also be made available on the Department’s Twitter handle, @stlcountypd.

It is our goal to provide the media with information upon request. Availability of reports is dependent upon the provisions of the Sunshine Law (RSMo Chapter 610). Sunshine Requests MUST BE SUBMITTED in one of the following manners:
