St. Louis County, MO (August 25, 2023): On Thursday, August 24, 2023, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on suspect Cam’ron Henderson, 18 years of age, of the 2800 block of Russell Boulevard in St. Louis, Missouri 63104, for Child Kidnapping, Assault First Degree, Burglary First Degree, four counts of Armed Criminal Action, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. A booking photo of Henderson is attached. Henderson is being held on $250,000 cash only, no 10%, bond.
Please note, charges are merely an accusation and Defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
The probable cause statement reads: On the date of August 10, 2023, the defendant and another kicked in the door to the victim's home to confront a different individual in reference to stolen property. The investigation revealed the occupants had no connection to the stolen property. Once the defendants encountered the victim, they both brandished firearms and the victim was subsequently struck in the head with a firearm. Her two-year-old toddler was taken from her arms, and the two defendants fled the apartment with the child. They entered into a waiting vehicle and failed to secure the child in a carseat when the car sped away. Defendant White later walked the child into a housing complex and abandoned the child with strangers. Both defendants White and Henderson were identified as the perpetrators. Defendant White was arrested in his home and found to possess a firearm and a mask that resembled the one he wore during the commission of the crimes. Police arrested Defendant Henderson at home and recovered a firearm. Defendant Henderson admitted to kicking in the door of the victim's residence and that the firearm recovered was the one he carried during the commission of the crime.
St. Louis County Police Crimes Against Persons detectives are leading this investigation.
